Job Description
Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX), headquartered in the United States of America, is recognized as the world's largest aerospace and defense company. With a rich legacy of more than 100 years of excellence and innovation, Raytheon delivers advanced solutions that help defend freedoms and deter aggression throughout the globe. The company operates multiple market-leading businesses that specialize in aerospace, defense systems, and cutting-edge technology. Raytheon is dedicated to solving some of the world’s most complex challenges by leveraging its outstanding engineering capabilities, robust research and development investments, and an unwavering commitment to quality and security. The company’s operations span diverse disciplines, including flight systems, missile defense, cybersecurity, and space technology, reflecting a diverse and dynamic portfolio of products and services.
RTX is seeking a qualified individual for an onsite role based in Tucson, Arizona, at its Hermans Road facility (Building 801). This position is 100% onsite and requires an active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance of DoD Secret level upon the start date. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to be eligible for the necessary clearance. Rewarding this role is a salary range of $107,500 to $204,500, dependent on experience, education, and other professional qualifications.
The role is situated within the Test Solutions Engineering organization, which encompasses all engineering disciplines related to systems design and testing across Raytheon’s extensive product portfolio. The role includes managing test requirements, system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, computer-in-the-loop testing, environmental testing, and overseeing engineering laboratory operations. As part of the Test Environment Support Administration (TESA) team, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and advancing test equipment by integrating new technology, providing cybersecurity compliance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting flight test operations.
The position also involves leadership responsibilities, with the candidate supervising a team of approximately 10 to 20 members. The leader will set strategic goals, communicate expectations clearly, conduct performance and career development discussions, and foster adherence to company values such as safety, trust, respect, accountability, collaboration, and innovation. This is a hands-on role, requiring the application of cutting-edge technologies and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and Cybersecurity professionals.
Tucson offers a vibrant and welcoming environment, with over 310 sunny days annually and a stunning natural landscape featuring mountains, the Sonoran Desert, and iconic saguaro cacti. Recognized as one of America’s top small cities, Tucson provides a unique blend of metropolitan energy and outdoor lifestyle, making it an attractive location for career and personal growth.
This comprehensive role demands technical expertise in cybersecurity, test equipment integration, and network system operation compliant with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and protocols. The candidate will engage in initiatives such as providing cybersecurity compliance guidance, supporting flight test capabilities, developing compliant test equipment for Linux, iOS, and Windows platforms, and ensuring ongoing system integrity and availability through effective troubleshooting and collaboration across functional areas.
Overall, Raytheon offers a competitive and fulfilling career path in aerospace and defense, backed by competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and a focus on innovation and mission-critical work. Candidates who thrive in challenging environments and demonstrate strong leadership and technical skills will find this role both rewarding and impactful.
