Job Requirements

  • Four-year degree
  • one year of experience in a supervisory catering or events role
  • ability to obtain and retain ServSafe Food and Alcohol certifications
  • must work some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to sit for extended periods
  • able to assist in banquets actively
  • occasionally move objects up to 30 lbs
  • pass criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • Four-year degree
  • one year of supervisory catering or events experience
  • ability to obtain and retain ServSafe Food and Alcohol certifications
  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge of event planning and execution
  • ability to mentor and guide student managers and employees
  • proficiency with hospitality technology
  • knowledge of Colorado liquor laws and safe alcohol service
  • familiarity with POS systems
  • high organizational skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms

Job Duties

  • Manage all day of event execution and set up details
  • ensure setup complies with contract and safety codes
  • supervise and train student assistant managers and FOH line staff
  • make last-minute adjustments per guest requests
  • oversee facility opening and security before and after events
  • write event reports noting attendance and issues
  • resolve guest problems or complaints
  • participate in interviewing and hiring student staff
  • mentor and evaluate student workers
  • manage and order linen inventory
  • assist with payroll, scheduling, and beverage ordering
  • act as department head in Associate Director's absence
  • manage and document performance of direct reports
  • attend Knoebel Events meetings
  • participate in school and college management meetings
  • assist with beverage management including inventory and training
  • support academic integration with faculty
  • ensure adherence to quality management practices
  • monitor and improve client satisfaction
