Job Description
Engine is a leading all-in-one travel and spend management platform trusted by over 38,000 businesses and groups and more than 1.2 million travelers worldwide. As the retailer and the rails of business travel, Engine stands out as the fastest-growing company in travel technology, built on a decade of proprietary technology, supply, and pricing capabilities that no other competitors can replicate. Many other travel and AI companies rely on Engine's robust infrastructure to book real trips, hold competitive rates, and manage payment flows without needing to build these complex systems themselves. Engine’s AI-forward approach permeates every layer of its platform, from how travelers book their trips to how seamless payment rails operate behind the scenes. This sophisticated technological foundation and innovative edge have earned Engine prestigious recognition, such as Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators in 2025, TravelTech’s Reservation Platform of the Year in 2026, and Built In’s Best Places to Work from 2020 through 2026.
Engine is on a mission to redefine how businesses manage and experience travel through bold, forward-thinking initiatives and cutting-edge technology. This fast-paced, ambitious company offers its employees exponential growth opportunities and a collaborative environment filled with high-caliber colleagues who challenge one another to deliver outstanding work. Each new hire raises the bar and contributes meaningfully to shaping the future of business travel. Engine’s culture emphasizes ownership and accountability, inviting team members to take full responsibility for their roles and innovate boldly.
The role of Field Marketing Lead is a strategic and pivotal position within Engine’s growth plan. This individual will lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of Engine’s full field marketing program, a critical lever for reaching buyers who are not typically found online, such as those on job sites, in dispatch offices, or on the road. The candidate will own everything from event selection, audience targeting and recruiting, content creation, on-site event execution, through to pre- and post-event follow-up and pipeline reporting. This role demands ownership of the event calendar and measurable sales pipeline outcomes. It requires strong collaboration with go-to-market leadership to align event mix with pipeline goals and regional priorities. The Field Marketing Lead will also innovate with experimental in-person activations, finding and scaling new ways to engage target buyers where they actually are. A major responsibility lies in managing and expanding Engine’s relationships with city and regional Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), leveraging these partnerships as repeatable engines for generating pipeline in multiple markets nationwide.
Key challenges include scaling early successful programs into robust, repeatable engines; identifying channels to reach buyers who remain offline; differentiating effective experimental events from those that do not merit further investment; improving consistency in field-to-pipeline feedback loops; and growing a capable team while maintaining hands-on leadership. Exceptional candidates will bring at least five years of experience in field marketing, event marketing, or demand generation, with over one year managing a team or operating as a player-coach. They will have a deep understanding of field marketing program ownership, pipeline impact, and leveraging AI tools like Claude or GPT in their workflows. Analytical instincts, strong sales partnership skills, and systems thinking abilities are essential to thrive in this role.
Engine offers a competitive base salary ranging from $115,600 to $160,000 USD, with total compensation potentially including equity and variable pay (OTE) depending on experience and location. Employees benefit from a hybrid-hub work model that accommodates both remote and office environments, ensuring every team member has what they need to succeed. The company’s comprehensive benefits package reflects its commitment to rewarding great work with great perks and compensation, supporting career growth and personal well-being. Join Engine and be part of a mission to transform how work travel works — making travel simpler, smarter, and more enjoyable for businesses and travelers alike.
