The Manager Executive Chef position at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is critical in ensuring the provision of high-quality culinary and nutrition services tailored to meet the diverse needs of patients and staff. This leadership role is responsible for managing food production operations, overseeing staff performance, and ensuring full compliance with sanitation and purchasing standards. As the Manager Executive Chef, your daily responsibilities will include identifying staff learning and development needs, directing training processes, conducting regular sanitation and performance audits, and managing purchasing agreements in line with departmental goals. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years leadership experience
  • three years equivalent combination culinary education and experience
  • registered dietitian or certified dietary manager within 24 months of hire
  • Servsafe Manager certification
  • Servsafe General Certificate within 60 days
  • Arizona Food Handler Permit or Servsafe Certification within 30 days

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of leadership experience
  • three years of equivalent combination of culinary education and culinary experience
  • registered dietitian (RD) or (RD-ADA) or (RD-AND) or (RD-CDR) or certified dietary manager (CDM) within 24 months of hire
  • Servsafe Manager (SERVSAFMGR)
  • Servsafe General Certificate (SERVSAFE GEN) within 60 days of hire
  • Arizona Food Handler Permit (FHP: AZ) or Servsafe Certification (SERVSAFE) within 30 days of hire
  • associates in culinary arts or hospitality management preferred
  • commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Job Duties

  • Identify current learning needs and opportunities for staff
  • direct and manage processes in which the appropriate expert relates the information
  • conduct sanitation audits and performance audits on a consistent basis per determined departmental frequencies
  • follow purchasing agreements and compliance goals set forth by departmental and Food and Nutrition Services program leadership
  • assist Manager/Director with compliance audits at all applicable campuses
  • maintain communication with staff and customers regarding the level of services received from Food and Nutrition Services and staff
  • promote patient satisfaction with nutritional services
  • relay relevant data to management team and/or staff when necessary
