The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a pivotal management role focused on developing and implementing tailored dining solutions to satisfy customer preferences and needs. This role involves overseeing dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu, generally within cafeterias or residential dining facilities. The role entails leadership duties aimed at engaging and developing team members utilizing Aramark’s coaching model, recognizing employee achievements, and ensuring the overall team meets performance objectives and client expectations. The Food Service Manager is responsible for planning daily team briefings, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, and cultivating strong client relationships by identifying client needs and communicating operational progress.
Financial stewardship is a critical part of this role, including overseeing the completion and maintenance of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, meeting client and company financial targets, understanding operational performance metrics, and educating the team on ways to improve profit margins. The manager is expected to drive productivity through efficient cost controls, adherence to food and labor initiatives, and thorough staff training to uphold quality and operational standards. Compliance with safety, health, wage, and hour regulations is mandatory to maintain a safe environment for clients, customers, and employees alike.
Additionally, the Food Service Manager leads the front-of-house operations alongside the Food Service Director, ensuring smooth coordination and a unified customer dining experience. Candidates for this position should have at least one year of experience in food service management, possess strong interpersonal and client relationship skills, and be capable of maintaining effective working relationships across departments to deliver exemplary food service. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand for extended periods.
