Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in hotel/hospitality or related field
  • minimum 1 year in event/conference planning or related hospitality experience
  • demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen
  • professional communication skills both verbal and written
  • able to lift up to 20lbs
  • able to bend, stretch, and twist
  • able to stand or sit for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Create and manage groups in the OPERA S&C system
  • assist with 30-60-90 day catering forecasts prepared weekly
  • complete Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and resumes for clients and operations departments
  • conduct weekly BEO meetings to discuss events and maximize budgets and sales goals
  • provide detailed information on group needs from arrival through departure
  • act as liaison between lodge and groups ensuring meeting spaces are appropriately set up and client requests are handled
  • create group resumes detailing purpose, room/suite types, blocks, rates, VIPs, agendas, AV, accounting, and special instructions
  • attain pre-set monthly revenue goals for upselling banquets
  • meet clients upon arrival and introduce them to key hotel staff
  • communicate last minute changes of group functions to hotel staff ensuring satisfactory follow through
  • plan and conduct pre-convention meetings as requested
  • represent the lodge in resolving complaints from groups and attendees including billing and reservations
