Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or culinary school or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably in a food production leadership position
  • Previous restaurant or kitchen supervisory experience
  • Strong experience in food production, food handling, and visual presentation of food
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Kronos Payroll System and catering systems such as EMS or Delphi is desired
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage staff at all levels

Job Duties

  • Managing preparation, production, and presentation of foods served in the unit via supervision and delegation of assignments to production staff
  • Evaluating, responding, and making recommendations based on customer needs to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Supervising culinary staff to ensure quality services are provided in a challenging and rewarding work environment
  • Developing recipes for menus considering nutrition, seasonal and affordable foods under the Executive Chef's direction
  • Managing production staff including recruitment, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and promoting good staff morale
  • Maintaining sufficient staffing to control labor costs
  • Assisting in staff training and development
  • Enforcing uniform compliance and hygiene practices
  • Continuously improving production processes
  • Communicating with Executive Chef and providing feedback on staff, product, and processes
  • Participating in daily production meetings
  • Performing related duties as assigned
