The role of Manager, Alternative Investor Services at SS&C is a pivotal position within the Alternative Investor Services team, which is devoted to providing comprehensive fund administration for both domestic and offshore hedge and private equity funds. This role is located in multiple sites including Windsor, CT; Union, NJ; and New York City, NY, operating under a hybrid work model requiring on-site presence six days each month. The responsibilities involve meticulous investor transaction processing, rigorous compliance and due diligence, in-depth reporting and communications, along with effective investor onboarding and maintenance. By leveraging expertise and a scalable technology platform, the Alternative Investor Services team empowers clients to concentrate on investments while SS&C manages crucial operational tasks.

As a Manager in this division, you will play an instrumental role in leading and developing daily team operations, providing mentorship through performance reviews and training programs, and managing complex investor and operational issues with a client-centric approach. Your leadership will extend to overseeing fund launches and client onboarding, ensuring cross-functional coordination for timely, compliant, and accurate setups. Additionally, the position involves maintaining fund data integrity, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with auditors and accounting teams to support audits and governance processes. This managerial role also entails approving and supervising investor transactions aligning with fund guidelines, controls, and risk management standards while driving continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and client service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in investor services, fund administration, alternative investments, or related financial services operations
  • At least 2 years of people management experience
  • Proven ability to manage client-facing escalations and resolve complex operational issues
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment with on-site presence approximately six days per month

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in investor services, fund administration, alternative investments, or related financial services operations with progression in responsibility
  • 2+ years of people management experience including leading teams, conducting performance reviews, coaching employees, and supporting professional development
  • Proven experience as a client-facing escalation point managing complex investor, operational, and service-related issues
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives enhancing operational workflows, supporting system testing, and scaling service delivery

Job Duties

  • Lead and develop team operations by managing daily workflows, conducting performance reviews, overseeing training programs, and identifying ongoing development needs to build a high-performing team
  • Act as the primary client and internal escalation point, resolving complex investor and operational issues while maintaining strong relationships and service standards
  • Oversee client onboarding and fund launches, coordinating cross-functional partners to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate setup
  • Manage fund data integrity and reporting, including database oversight, dashboard maintenance, and review of offering documents, investor reports, and fund manager information
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and due diligence by partnering with auditors, accounting teams, and key stakeholders to support audits, reviews, and governance requirements
  • Approve and supervise investor transactions, including wire transfers and capital activity, ensuring adherence to fund guidelines, controls, and risk management standards
  • Drive process improvement and departmental initiatives, supporting system testing, operational enhancements, and continuous improvement to scale client service and efficiency
