Black Bear Diner is currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to join their Washington, UT location at 965 N Hoodoo Way. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team in an engaging work environment.

The Assistant Manager at Black Bear Diner holds a critical role in ensuring the smooth operational flow and superior service delivery of the restaurant. This position will focus on maintaining and enhancing the overall efficiency and technical operations of the restaurant while ensuring high standards of food quality, service timeliness, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be instrumental in controlling labor and food costs, a key component for profitability in the service industry. They will also play a vital role in building and sustaining strong relationships with guests, addressing and resolving any issues promptly, and embodying the core values of hospitality. In addition to guest interactions, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for motivating and refining the restaurant staff through effective training programs and team-building activities. The position requires coordination of staff scheduling and product ordering based on sales volume forecasts to optimize operational performance. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk 10 hours per day
  • ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry and stoop

  • ability to work varied hours and days to oversee store operations
  • awareness of potential hazards including cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in restaurant management or related hospitality roles
  • strong leadership and team-building skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • knowledge of food and labor cost control
  • ability to manage scheduling and inventory ordering
  • proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and email

Job Duties

  • Meet guests needs and special requests enthusiastically
  • review all schedules and forecasts
  • coordinate opening and closing activities in a timely and safe manner
  • ensure that all cash handling procedures are followed
  • execute marketing programs including correct placement and maintenance of POP materials, suggestive selling, and consumer education
  • ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policies
  • utilize basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Internet, and Gmail
