Job Description

The Management Analyst Supervisor 2 - Director of Sports Facilities at RCTC is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the activities and operations of multiple sports and recreational centers including the College's Regional Sports Center, Rochester Regional Stadium, and Campus Grounds. This full-time, classified unlimited position plays a vital role in coordinating the scheduling, maintenance, and event management functions of these facilities. The role involves direct supervision of site coordinators, student workers, maintenance crews, and event staff, ensuring the smooth execution of sporting events and related functions. The director works closely with various stakeholders such as RCTC schedulers, athletic and physical education departments, local schools, the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission, and the Rochester Park and Recreation Department to align college and community needs. Acting as an ambassador for RCTC, the director promotes and supports sporting events and functions, helping to foster a vibrant sports culture within the local and regional communities.

This position demands a flexible work schedule with 40 hours per week but with no fixed hours, including the possibility of evening and weekend commitments to effectively manage events. The hourly salary range is between $30.55 and $45.92. Candidates for this position are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in Sports Facilities Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent experience with both indoor and outdoor athletics and sports activities. They should possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, along with experience in management or supervision. A valid Class 'D' driver's license is also required. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Sports Management or a related field, three to five years of supervisory experience, prior facilities operations experience, and knowledge of administrative practices related to facility operations.

Job Duties

  • Direct the activities and operations of the College's Regional Sports Center, the Rochester Regional Stadium, and Campus Grounds including operation and scheduling
  • manage contracts, invoicing, coordinating, soliciting
  • modify, develop and implement new policies, procedures and guidelines
  • promote events and functions of the facility
  • supervise site coordinators, student workers, maintenance and other event staff
  • collaborate with RCTC schedulers, athletic/PHED departments, local schools, Rochester Amateur Sports Commission and Rochester Park and Recreation Department
  • act as a sporting event ambassador for RCTC in the local and regional community
  • ensure operational needs are met during varying hours including evenings and weekends
