This full-time day shift role based at AdventHealth’s facility located at 1055 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Florida, represents a unique opportunity for a Mammography Technologist to join a passionate and purpose-oriented team within the breast center. The Mammography Technologist plays a crucial role in supporting the patient care journey by performing high-quality mammographic and diagnostic radiological procedures. This role demands strong technical expertise, a compassionate approach to patient care, and an unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance and quality standards. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, including patient tracking and follow-up, imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling, ensuring that patients receive timely, comfortable, and accurate imaging services. They will support breast center initiatives such as accreditation readiness, quality improvement projects, and community outreach events that emphasize breast health awareness and education.
The Mammography Technologist is entrusted with maintaining cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms, conducting daily quality control checks, and confirming patient identification and informed consent in adherence to departmental protocols. Operating mammography equipment requires meticulous attention to detail to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression to guarantee diagnostic quality. Communication skills are essential for educating and comforting patients, effectively coordinating with radiologists and the broader breast imaging team, and ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of results. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience
- Basic life support - cpr cert (BLS)
- Registered mammographer RT(M)(ARRT)
- Registered radiology technologist RT(R)(ARRT)
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
- Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
- Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures
- Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience
- Knowledge of mammography and diagnostic radiological procedures/positions
- Ability to determine appropriate technical factors
- Knowledge of mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations
- Ability to learn and master new tasks related to image quality and radiation safety
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
- Ability to complete mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to make judgments that must be made on a regular basis regarding exam protocols and imaging techniques based upon patient condition and provisional diagnosis
- Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
- Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures
- Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff

Job Duties
- Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows
- supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities
- follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams
- maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems
- performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis
- ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks
- notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low
- performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements
- positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed
- ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion
- follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements
