The role focuses on mammography and diagnostic radiological services within the breast center, where the successful candidate will perform high-quality mammography exams, including both 2D and 3D techniques in compliance with federal and professional standards. Key responsibilities include patient scheduling, tracking, and follow-up processes such as recall management and biopsy coordination. The Mammographer will also support breast center initiatives including accreditation preparation, community screening events, and quality improvement programs. Candidates must adhere strictly to department protocols regarding patient identification, informed consent, and safety time-out procedures to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Documentation responsibilities include accurate and timely input in electronic medical records (EMR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). The role requires maintaining cleanliness, equipment readiness, quality control compliance, and timely communication with radiologists and team members. The ideal individual will possess strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues, explain procedures clearly, and provide compassionate care. Knowledge of mammography equipment and compliance with regulations including MQSA, FDA, and American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines is essential.
