Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum six months of experience in maintenance or cleaning
- knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment upkeep
- basic understanding of light electrical plumbing painting and carpentry
- ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
- valid legal work status
- ability to follow safety and sanitary guidelines
- good communication skills

- familiarity with cleaning compounds and their safe use

- ability to operate cleaning machinery
- strong attention to detail and safety
- ability to follow regulatory and organizational standards
Job Duties
- clean and sanitize assigned areas including mopping dusting and trash removal
- complete window washing room set-ups and break downs pool cleaning snow removal grounds keeping and related duties
- operate motorized and non-motorized equipment
- record and report needed repairs repair as directed
- ensure building and property security report incidents and hazardous conditions
- replace soap paper towels and other supplies
- plan and execute routine set-ups break-downs and installations for facility programming needs
- strip and wax floors shampoo rugs as needed
- follow standards of Department of Health Department of Buildings Fire Department of New York Housing Preservation Development and Environmental Control Board
- follow YMCA housekeeping policies and procedures
- obtain YMCA Housekeeping certificate within one year of employment
- participate in training sessions meetings and special events
- follow and maintain sanitary habits in accordance with CDC guidelines
