Job Description
Xerxes, a division of Mattr, holds the prestigious title of being the largest manufacturer of underground fiberglass storage tanks in the world. With nearly four decades of direct industry expertise, Xerxes has established itself as both a leading innovator and a trusted brand in the manufacturing sector. The company prides itself on its commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence, providing advanced solutions that meet the evolving needs of a diverse range of industries. Operating under the umbrella of Mattr, Xerxes leverages a strong foundation of technical knowledge, innovation, and a dedicated workforce to maintain its position at the forefront of the industry. Mattr’s culture is deeply rooted in integrity, passion, and teamwork, driving every aspect of its operations and ensuring a dynamic work environment where employees can thrive and grow.
The Maintenance Technician role at Xerxes is a critical position reporting to either the Maintenance Supervisor or Production Manager. This role is centered on ensuring that plant equipment and facilities operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support uninterrupted manufacturing processes. The Maintenance Technician is an essential contributor to the company’s Asset Management and Maintenance Program, which aims for zero accidents, zero defects, and zero breakdowns. This position involves performing preventative maintenance, responding promptly to equipment issues, and accurately documenting all maintenance activities. By doing so, the technician helps reduce process variation and improve overall manufacturing performance, contributing directly to maintaining high product quality and operational reliability.
This role offers individuals an opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative team environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and professional development. The Maintenance Technician will engage with various maintenance tasks including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, compressed air, heating, and cooling systems. The position also involves handling repairs and servicing of equipment such as pumps and tools, monitoring work orders, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Candidates who excel in problem-solving, attention to detail, and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
Xerxes and Mattr prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees by fostering a clean, organized work environment and promoting rigorous safety standards. The Maintenance Technician will be expected to support these goals by identifying hazards, documenting safety concerns, and working safely alongside contractors and team members. With a focus on collaboration and communication, this position is ideal for individuals who value teamwork and are committed to operational excellence. The role requires the physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces, which ensures that maintenance operations run smoothly and effectively.
Joining the Mattr family means becoming part of an organization that values its people and offers competitive benefits designed to support work-life balance and personal well-being. The company is committed to providing its employees with medical, dental, and vision insurance options, retirement plans, incentive bonuses, paid time off, and wellness programs. Through ongoing training and career development opportunities, the Maintenance Technician will have the chance to expand their skill set and advance their career within a stable and growing company. Overall, this role is a perfect opportunity for individuals looking for a permanent position with a respected industry leader, where their contributions will have a direct impact on the company’s success and operational goals.
