Job Description

McDonald's is a globally recognized restaurant and fast-food service company known for its consistent quality and customer satisfaction. This particular employment opportunity is with an independently owned and operated McDonald's franchise located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Unlike positions directly managed by McDonald's USA Corporation, this franchise independently manages employment decisions such as hiring, firing, discipline, and scheduling. The franchise maintains the use of McDonald's logos and food products under license, ensuring that customers receive the well-known experience associated with the brand, while also providing a distinctive local workplace environment for team members. The franchise employs between 50 to 99 employees and prides itself on offering an inclusive, diverse workplace where all team members feel valued and respected.

This Maintenance Person role is essential in ensuring that the restaurant environment is clean, safe, and operating at peak efficiency both inside and outside the facility. The role offers flexible scheduling options, including full-time or part-time availability, with shifts covering breakfast, lunch, late nights, and weekends, making it suitable for a wide range of schedules and lifestyle needs. Employees in this position benefit from competitive pay ranging from $15.60 to $19.00 per hour, along with a suite of attractive benefits and perks such as paid New Jersey sick leave, tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 per year, employee discounts, and free meals during shifts.

This role is not only about maintaining equipment and cleanliness but about leading and enhancing the customer and team member experience. Responsibilities include routine maintenance checks on HVAC and exhaust systems, maintaining outdoor grounds, cleaning windows, and ensuring compliance with food safety and storage standards. Team members also assist with unloading deliveries, stocking supplies, and keeping customer-accessible and employee areas tidy and well-maintained. The role emphasizes a humble and hospitable demeanor among team members, encouraging a learning and growth mindset and valuing strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

McDonald's franchise supports employee growth through education assistance programs such as Archways to Opportunity, offering courses that range from earning a high school degree to college tuition assistance and English language classes for non-native speakers. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement savings plans like 401K programs, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement within the franchise. The franchise demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and maintaining a discrimination-free workplace environment.

This job posting provides an overview of the Maintenance Person position's general expectations but acknowledges that team members may perform a variety of tasks beyond those listed. The successful candidate will be an essential part of a community-focused team dedicated to creating a positive environment for customers and fellow employees alike. This is a unique opportunity to work with a globally respected brand while being part of a close-knit local business that values its team members' contributions and growth potential.
