The company prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where associates are empowered to grow professionally and personally. This particular role is a full-time, salaried position based in the California-Redlands distribution center, under the Distribution Center Management category. Reporting to the maintenance leadership, the Maintenance Supervisor will play a pivotal part in maintaining operational excellence by leading a skilled team of mechanics dedicated to repairing and maintaining vital equipment. The position operates during the Tuesday to Friday shift from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am, reflecting the 24/7 nature of the distribution center operations. The salary range for this role is $71,000 to $76,000, reflective of experience and qualifications.
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will manage maintenance and repair activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum safety within the facility. You will be entrusted with overseeing tasks like diagnosing equipment issues, managing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Your role also involves maintaining the overall cleanliness and functionality of the building, grounds, and equipment. Functioning as a key leader within the distribution center, you will collaborate closely with DC leadership to identify maintenance needs and develop innovative solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
Your leadership responsibilities include guiding the mechanics team through daily assignments, prioritizing safety and production-related repairs, and stepping in to assist with complex diagnoses and repairs when necessary. This role requires a keen analytical mind to gather and interpret operational data, troubleshoot problems, and establish efficient departmental procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering-related software tools is essential for tracking maintenance schedules and reporting.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of five years of maintenance supervision experience, along with strong knowledge of conveyor systems, motor controls, and material handling equipment (MHE) repairs. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while completion of trade school is preferred. Physical stamina is necessary due to the demands of lifting boxes of 40 pounds or more and standing for extended periods. Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required is an important aspect of this role.
Burlington offers competitive wages, flexible hours, and an associate discount for its employees. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with life and disability insurance. Full-time associates are eligible for paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan. By joining Burlington, you become part of a company that not only strives for operational excellence but also values teamwork, diversity, and making a positive impact on communities where it operates. This role presents a unique opportunity to take on a dynamic and challenging maintenance leadership position within a fast-paced distribution center environment.
