Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Have an applicable culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of related culinary experience or training
  • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Ability to calculate discounts, commissions, proportions and apply basic math concepts
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram instructions
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications
  • Experience in supervising employees with responsibility including interviewing and training
  • Physically able to perform standing, walking, lifting, and other physical duties
  • Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a kitchen environment and manage a team
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Applicable culinary degree
  • Minimum of three years of related culinary experience or training
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents
  • Proficient in basic algebra and geometry
  • Skilled in solving practical problems and interpreting instructions
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, inventory, payroll, internet, and order processing software
  • Experience in supervising culinary staff including hiring and training
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements including lifting up to 60 pounds regularly
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team player

Job Duties

  • Familiarize yourself with the culinary program including culinary, stewarding and service teams
  • Review and enforce Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond standards
  • Participate actively in meal services and special events by overseeing food preparation and presentation
  • Manage food ordering, kitchen operations, and staff scheduling
  • Assist in budget management including food, labor, and expenses
  • Conduct daily pre-shift and monthly staff meetings with proper documentation
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and harassment-free workplace
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness, safety, and sanitation to pass health inspections with zero violations
  • Implement and monitor kitchen safety measures to prevent accidents and theft
  • Coordinate maintenance and timely reporting of all kitchen and hotel equipment
  • Lead by example working closely with culinary, stewarding, and service teams
  • Maintain administrative documentation like menu guides, recipes, and cost sheets
  • Promote and participate in staff training and professional development
  • Recognize talent and assist in career placement and growth
  • Set short-term and long-term goals for culinary team members including reviews
  • Uphold Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Take required breaks with supervisor notification
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary
