The role of Restaurant Barista at Magnolia Table is a vital customer-facing position responsible for crafting high-quality beverages that meet the restaurant’s strict standards while providing exceptional customer service. This position works closely with the Assistant Front of House Manager but does not carry supervisory responsibilities. The Restaurant Barista is expected to greet guests enthusiastically, prepare a variety of beverages including specialty coffees, and answer questions related to coffee, cocktails, beer, wine, and menu items. The barista will maintain the beverage bar’s cleanliness and stock levels, follow recipes carefully to ensure consistency, and assist with food and drink service when necessary.

In addition to beverage preparation, the Restaurant Barista ensures compliance with sanitation and safety standards, including responsible alcohol service following TABC training requirements. This role contributes to a welcoming environment by promptly responding to guest needs and supporting team efforts in bussing and resetting tables. The position demands strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork and guest satisfaction. With a focus on maintaining product quality and a clean working environment, the Restaurant Barista is key to upholding Magnolia’s brand and creating meaningful guest experiences as part of the hospitality team at Magnolia Table.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
  • Food Handler's license and TABC certification required upon hire
  • Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require

Job Duties

  • Ensure the highest level of guest care in line with Magnolia’s brand
  • Greet guests with enthusiasm
  • Create a variety of high-quality beverages and coffees per Magnolia’s standards and recipes
  • Answer questions regarding coffee, cocktails, beer, wine and menu items to guests
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality and maintain highest quality
  • Ensure that the beverage bar is fully stocked and all opening and closing duties are completed
  • Prepare and sell menu items by following prescribed recipes and techniques
  • Polish drinkware to ensure cleanliness for service and clean beverage equipment
  • Assist with running drinks and food when needed
  • Respond to guest needs when possible and or communicate to a manager if necessary
  • Assist with bussing and resetting tables when needed
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards
  • Contribute to a safe and clean working environment
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per TABC training and notify management of any issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
