The Barista role at Magnolia Press is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about coffee, food service, and customer engagement. The Barista is essential in creating and maintaining the famed Magnolia Press experience by providing prompt service, preparing quality beverages, and contributing to a clean and inviting environment. This position focuses on guest satisfaction and demands a calm, friendly demeanor even during high volume periods. The Barista is responsible for cash wrap operations, educating guests about the menu, and crafting food and drink products according to standardized recipes and safety guidelines. They also play a pivotal role in food preparation, ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and adherence to Magnolia's high standards of product presentation. As part of the broader Magnolia Foods entities, Baristas may occasionally help out in other locations, reflecting the brand’s collaborative ethos. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is entry-level with no supervisory duties, making it perfect for those looking to build a career in the hospitality or food service industry. The position requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, special events, and holidays as business needs dictate. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
0-1 years of related work experience preferred
Food handler's license required upon hire
Must be available to work weekends, evenings, special events, and holidays as business needs require
Ability to maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during periods of high volume
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Ability to perform food preparation tasks according to safety and quality standards
Ability to operate cash wrap and point of sale systems efficiently
Willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
0-1 years of related work experience preferred
Food handler's license required upon hire
Strong customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor while working with a sense of urgency
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
Proficiency in operating coffee machines and other equipment preferred

Job Duties

Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during periods of high volume
Anticipate guest needs and provide exceptional guest service
Perform cash wrap and point of sale duties in an efficient and timely manner
Educate guests by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions
Prepare and sell food and drink products by following approved recipes, preparation, and cooking or baking techniques
Prepare ingredients for each recipe by chopping, dicing, slicing, washing, and using additional techniques as needed
Handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards
Finish all product to specific visual requirements in accordance with Magnolia standards
Communicate with management regarding status of products, quality control issues, problems with equipment, or unusual conditions
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Evaluate and modify processes in order to improve efficiency and quality of service
Contribute to a positive team environment, including giving and receiving feedback and assisting in other Silos Foods entities as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
