Knowledge of computer systems and equipment including PC, symbol, scales, label machine

Physical ability to perform various department-specific demands including lifting up to 55 lbs or more with safe lifting practices

Job Duties

Provide superior customer service
Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
Answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
Assist in technical areas as needed including basic set-up and clean-up processes
Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to build department sales
Clean and sanitize display cases
Operate and maintain equipment properly
Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
Comply with department and store operating procedures
Record production and shrink in Bakery
Assist with baking, frying, and decorating in Bakery
Cull bakery products for quality and expiration
Take care of service counter customers in Deli
Use ordering system applications
Use Fresh Production Planner
Perform inventory management as required
Ensure catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup
Perform sanitation and maintenance for Deli slicers
Serve and package products at customer's request in Prepared Foods
Educate customers on food preparation and reheating instructions
Prepackage condiments for prepared food items
Cut, slice, dice, and chop food for chefs
