The role of System Director of Practice Operations for Lee Physician Group's Primary Care practices is a pivotal executive leadership position responsible for overseeing the operational excellence of a large, complex network of primary care sites. This full-time position, reporting at the Medical Plaza One in Fort Myers, offers a competitive annual salary range between $127,795.20 and $172,577.60, with additional sign-on incentives and relocation assistance for candidates relocating from over 50 miles away.
In this role, the System Director will lead the development and execution of strategic operational plans that directly impact clinical operations, patient access, provider satisfaction, financial performance, and quality outcomes across the network. The leader will collaborate closely with physician leaders and executive teams to optimize workflows, enhance patient scheduling, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in ambulatory practice management within integrated healthcare systems, demonstrating a strong ability to build robust relationships with physicians, clinicians, and organizational leaders. As a senior member of the Lee Physician Group leadership team, the System Director will mentor and develop practice managers and operational leaders, champion innovative solutions to operational challenges, and steer initiatives aimed at improving both the patient and provider experience.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
- master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related field) required
- minimum of 10 years of progressive physician practice management experience within an integrated healthcare system
- proven leadership experience in multi-site ambulatory or primary care operations
- strong knowledge of ambulatory practice operations, patient access, scheduling optimization, financial management, and regulatory compliance
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and executive leadership
- certification as a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) is strongly preferred
- ambulatory care nurse certification is a plus
Job Qualifications

- master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related field) required
- minimum of 10 years of progressive physician practice management experience within an integrated healthcare system
- demonstrated success leading multi-site ambulatory or primary care operations
- strong knowledge of ambulatory practice operations, patient access, scheduling optimization, financial management, and regulatory compliance
- proven ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and executive leadership
- certification as a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) is strongly preferred
- ambulatory care nurse certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for a large network of primary care practices across the health system
- lead, mentor, and develop practice managers and operational leaders to build high-performing, engaged teams
- partner with physicians and executive leadership to improve clinical operations, patient access, provider satisfaction, and overall practice performance
- drive initiatives that enhance patient experience, operational efficiency, quality outcomes, and financial performance
- develop and execute operational plans, business strategies, and budgets that support organizational goals and future growth
- ensure effective scheduling strategies that maximize patient access while supporting provider productivity
- oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, billing standards, and organizational policies
- foster a culture centered on collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service
- participate as a senior leader in the ongoing growth and strategic direction of Lee Physician Group and Lee Health
