Currently, Shaner Hotels has a vibrant opportunity at the Philadelphia Residence Inn, a 121-room property located near the Philadelphia Airport and close to many popular tourist destinations within historic downtown Philadelphia. This Residence Inn by Marriott offers a welcoming atmosphere featuring a guest lounge with a relaxing patio and a fire pit, making it an ideal spot for unwinding in the evenings. This position is a unique chance to be part of a dynamic team that values guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and a supportive work environment.
The role involves working within the Food and Beverage Department, where maintaining impeccable standards of service and safety is paramount. This position demands flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with operational procedures, maintaining food and beverage safety and quality per hotel, Shaner, and franchise guidelines, and upholding safe working conditions within the department. A key aspect of the role is effective communication with management and staff to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking orders and preparing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with light meals, ensuring service is both courteous and efficient according to hotel specifications. Job Requirements
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant food and beverage field
- Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers to their understanding
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant food and beverage field
- Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages

- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers to their understanding
- High school graduate or equivalent some college preferred
- ServSafe and or food safety training a plus
- Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
- Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations
- Bilingual English Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele
Job Duties
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
- Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel Shaner and Franchise specifications
- Maintains and abides by standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
- Responsible for responding and handling guest related issues pertaining to the department
- Ensures communication with General Manager all other Department Managers Supervisors and Staff
- Other duties as assigned
