The role of a Bartender at Fairfield Inn New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter Area is key to enhancing the guest experience by crafting quality beverages and providing excellent customer interaction. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $16.00 per hour plus tips, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to rewarding skilled and motivated staff. The ideal candidate will start mid-February to March and will be responsible for mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as light meals, all while maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality. The Bartender will not only be responsible for beverage preparation but also play a vital role in creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for guests. This includes maintaining a clean and organized workspace, handling transactions accurately, and adhering to state liquor laws to ensure responsible service.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 21 to serve alcoholic beverages
- One year experience as a server or barback preferred but not required
- Good understanding of the English language
- Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage service standards
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program
- Certification in CPR
- Ability to use property management systems and point of sales systems
- Strong guest and customer relations skills
- Outgoing and positive attitude
- Knowledge of local area
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program
- Certification in CPR
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system
- Previous guest/customer relations training
- Outgoing personality with ability to engage guest conversations
- Knowledgeable about the surrounding area
Job Duties
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
- Always keep bank secure
- Maintain complete knowledge of P.O.S. and manual systems
- Greet guests and take their orders (food and beverage), utilizing suggestive/up-selling techniques
- Input orders into system and ensure transmission is verified by Bartender/Kitchen
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of tables, service areas and outlet itself
- Present guest checks and process payments through the Bartender/Cashier. Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures
- Clean and reset tables immediately after guests depart
- Collect and report tips at the end of assigned shift
- Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and Hotel requirements
- Complete all closing reports in the P.O.S. system
- Legibly document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Manager
