Job Description

Sofar is a global live music and arts company that was founded in 2009 in London. Originating from a desire to rekindle the magic of live music, the company quickly transformed into a worldwide movement that not only celebrates music, but also encompasses comedy, dance, and various other cultural expressions. Sofar has a distinguished track record for discovering and promoting emerging talent, having featured early performances by internationally renowned artists such as Billie Eilish, Jack Harlow, Leon Bridges, and Hozier. Each event hosted by Sofar is unique, set in a diverse range of venues from intimate private living rooms to extraordinary spaces like caves or rooftops. This creates immersive, memorable experiences designed to connect audiences deeply with the art and the artist.

The role of Freelance Local Producer at Sofar offers a dynamic and entrepreneurial opportunity to be deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of a specific city. As a Producer, you will be part of a global network of innovative community builders, working independently yet connected to Sofar's wider global community. You will be responsible for executing the full spectrum of event production—from planning and curation to marketing and live execution. This position demands a keen sense of business, cultural insight, and extensive local connections to venues, artists, and brand partners. The role suits a self-starter who thrives on creative problem-solving and managing the various moving parts of live event production.

This flexible freelance commission-based role pays between $100 and $5,000 monthly depending on the volume and success of shows curated and executed. You'll be empowered to shape Sofar's presence in your city, crafting strategies that include the number of shows, themes, neighborhood engagement, and artist selection. You will handle financial performance, build partnerships that enhance sponsorship and ticket sales, and ensure exceptional experiences for all participants. This opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about live events, community creativity, and artist development, offering meaningful ownership and connection to Sofar’s mission worldwide.
