We are currently looking for a Local Driver to join our growing logistics team. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and safe deliveries to our customers. As a Local Driver at TForce Freight, you will be responsible for the operation of a tractor and trailer, delivering freight across various locations while maintaining a positive, helpful, and professional attitude. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $27.16 to $34.65 per hour, pension and 401K plans, paid time off, excellent wages, and comprehensive benefits. The Local Driver position requires not only safe vehicle operation but also active engagement in customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally. You will be responsible for making sure all cargo is properly loaded and secured before beginning your route, conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining adherence to local, state, and federal regulations including DOT standards. Accurate record-keeping of driving hours, routes, and cargo conditions is essential, as is constant communication with dispatch to resolve any scheduling or operational issues. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid class a commercial driver’s license (cdl)
  • minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • clean driving record
  • ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work local routes with flexible schedule
  • ability to maintain logs accurately
  • physical ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • impeccable customer service and dedication
  • valid class a commercial driver’s license (cdl) in resident state
  • hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
  • 21 years of age
  • meet all dot and company requirements
  • safety perform essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to self or co-workers
  • able to read, write and speak the english language
  • u.s. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the u.s.
  • strong organizational and time managements skills

Job Duties

  • operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
  • ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
  • provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
  • adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
  • maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
  • communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
