This position based in Fort Worth, TX, is for a Local Delivery Driver holding a CDL A with Hazmat certification. The role is full-time with Monday through Friday day shifts and offers a competitive hourly pay of $28 plus potential bonuses. As a Local Delivery Driver and Service & Delivery Professional at Airgas, you will be responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders using company-provided straight or box trucks. Your duties include managing the flow of cylinders, collecting empty or rejected cylinders, and maintaining strong customer relationships through professional and courteous service. Safety is paramount at Airgas, and you will be expected to comply with all relevant safety standards and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. The role also involves occasional warehouse support and requires physical strength to handle cylinder weights safely.

Job Requirements

  • Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat and Airbrake Certifications
  • One year of Class A professional driving experience within last five years or approved equivalent
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions or accidents
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to routinely lift 25-75 pounds and occasionally over 125 pounds with equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Must obtain forklift operator certification

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of prior Class A professional driving experience within last five years or equivalent driving school diploma with experience
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions or accidents
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds routinely and occasionally lift above 125 pounds with equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to eight hours
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Must obtain forklift operator certification

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on load manifests, obtaining customer signatures
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them for refilling
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
