Airgas is currently seeking a Local CDL Delivery Driver in Missoula, Montana, to join their retail shop team. This role is a full-time position offering a competitive starting pay of $31 per hour, with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and a referral bonus program. In this delivery driver role, the successful candidate will operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hardgoods along scheduled routes. Responsibilities include collecting empty cylinders, recording transactions, obtaining customer signatures, and addressing customer inquiries with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The role demands a professional demeanor, adherence to safety protocols, and care in maintaining the vehicle’s condition. Drivers also conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any issues promptly.

The job requires a high degree of physical stamina and capability as drivers regularly handle heavy items ranging from 25 to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift more than 125 pounds using material handling equipment. The position involves extensive bending, walking, standing, and driving for up to 8 hours a day transporting hazardous materials safely. Candidates must be adept at working independently, managing their time efficiently, and interpreting safety data sheets. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL license
  • Have a Hazmat endorsement or be willing to obtain it upon job offer
  • Possess at least one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience verifiable under DOT requirements
  • Demonstrate physical capability to lift 25 to 75 lbs regularly and up to 125+ lbs with equipment
  • Be physically capable of frequent bending, walking, standing, and operating vehicle for up to 8 hours daily
  • Maintain a clean motor vehicle record
  • Possess strong time management and independent working skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least one full year of verifiable Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or recent graduate from an accredited driving school
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Clean motor vehicle record

Job Duties
