Montclair Chef is a premier introduction service specializing in connecting elite household employers with highly skilled private chefs who excel in personal culinary excellence. This specific opportunity is focused on a prestigious family residency in the Upper West Side, New York City, a wealthy and culturally vibrant neighborhood famed for its proximity to Central Park, world-class dining, and luxury living. Job Requirements

Education in culinary arts or equivalent professional experience
Minimum several years working as a private chef or in high-end culinary environments
Ability to work full-time with two days off per week and flexibility for travel
Willingness to undergo a one-week paid trial
Ability to travel seasonally to Aspen and The Hamptons and stay in provided accommodations
Comfort with interacting with household pets
Upholding confidentiality and discretion in a private residence

Job Qualifications

Proven experience as a private or professional chef
Strong knowledge of diverse culinary cuisines and healthy cooking techniques
Ability to follow detailed and specific recipe instructions
Experience accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies
Excellent adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic household setting
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Valid driving licence preferred but not mandatory

Job Duties

Prepare high-protein, healthy, fresh, and seasonal dinners five days a week
Occasionally prepare lunches
Cook a variety of cuisines including Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, and Italian
Follow family-specific recipes exactly as provided
Accommodate last-minute meal requests and casual dining for teenagers and their guests
Adapt to flexible schedules and meal planning due to family’s dining out habits
Maintain discretion and professionalism within the household environment
