Job Requirements

At least 21 years of age
high school diploma or equivalent preferred
1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
basic math skills required
excellent communication skills in English
bilingual Spanish a plus
ability to manage stress and perform in a high-volume environment
strong problem-solving skills
ability to work under time constraints and prioritize multiple work responsibilities
ability to uphold and manage standards, procedures and processes
ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
ability to consistently maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor
physically capable of standing and moving for extended periods
able to lift up to 50 pounds
able to work safely around hot kitchen equipment

Job Duties

Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with established policies and procedures
ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and maintain sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place for the next shift
support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries promptly
assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of kitchen items
ensure meal and rest breaks are available to team members and accurately record break times
assist in establishing proper par levels and conduct inventories to assure adequate stock
properly label, date, rotate and store products to ensure food handling and sanitation compliance
keep production and merchandising areas clean, safe and presentable
effectively communicate with management and assist with guest and team member needs
utilize point-of-sale system to accurately enter guest information and orders
bag orders neatly preserving food quality and presentation
set the tone for the shift and take responsibility for shift results
secure the building at closing and perform other job-related duties as necessary
