The role requires strong organizational skills to keep workstations clean and stocked, adherence to waste control procedures, and participation in opening, closing, and side work duties. The environment challenges cooks to work efficiently under pressure, serving guests from all over the world who come to experience the park’s unique beauty. The job is seasonally based, ideal for those seeking to build culinary expertise in a dynamic and picturesque setting.

Team members residing 50 or more miles from the worksite have access to affordable housing options, including recently updated dormitory accommodations at $100 per week with utilities and Wi-Fi included. Daily meals are offered free of charge for those living in employee housing, and free ride services to the nearby town of Luray are provided. Additional benefits include employee discounts of 30% off most items, training and development opportunities with potential for advancement and transfers across various Delaware North locations, and regular weekly pay. The company also promotes a diverse, inclusive work environment supporting all individuals regardless of race, gender, or other protected statuses.

Working at Shenandoah National Park not only allows employees to grow professionally within the hospitality sector but also encourages a balanced lifestyle filled with outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing, cycling, fishing, and horseback riding.
