Job Description
Delaware North's Patina Group is a distinguished leader in the premium restaurant and catering industry, renowned for operating high-profile venues across the United States. With a rich legacy spanning over a century, Delaware North is a family-owned company that prioritizes people, offering a supportive and inclusive work environment across its diverse operations. The Patina Group, a division of Delaware North, manages exceptional dining establishments and catering services at iconic locations such as Lincoln Center, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and The Metropolitan Opera. This prestigious range of venues reflects the group's commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence in hospitality.
The current opportunity is for a Line Cook position at Nick and Stef's Steakhouse in Los Angeles, California. This role can be either full-time or part-time, providing flexibility for candidates seeking different work schedules. The pay ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, reflecting the competitive compensation offered for culinary professionals within Delaware North's network. This position invites culinary enthusiasts who are eager to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where they can hone their cooking skills and contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences.
As a Line Cook at Nick and Stef's Steakhouse, you will play a critical role in preparing high-quality dishes according to established recipes and the chef's specific instructions. The job entails accurately measuring, portioning, and cooking various food items promptly to maintain the standards of taste and presentation that the establishment is known for. Maintaining correct food temperatures and ensuring food safety throughout the preparation and storage processes are essential responsibilities. Your duties will also include performing opening, closing, and side work tasks to prepare the kitchen for service and maintain operational flow.
In addition to culinary tasks, this position demands attention to cleanliness and organization. Keeping your workstation and kitchen equipment clean, well-organized, and sufficiently stocked helps ensure efficiency during service and adherence to health and safety regulations. The role also involves implementing waste-control guidelines and recording spoilage to minimize waste and support sustainability efforts.
Ideal candidates for this Line Cook position bring a minimum of one year’s experience in a prep cook or line cook role, demonstrating the ability to prioritize food orders and work with speed and precision in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Basic math skills are necessary to understand and follow recipe measurements and proportions accurately. Although a high school diploma or GED is not required, the ability to take directions and follow procedures is crucial. Physical demands include manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, and blend foods, the strength to carry large pans weighing up to 50 pounds, and the stamina to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions in varying temperature conditions.
Working hours typically include evenings and weekends, aligning with the business hours of a busy, upscale steakhouse. This schedule offers opportunities for those looking to engage in hospitality during peak service times.
Delaware North values the well-being of its employees and offers comprehensive benefits to assist in both personal and professional growth. The benefits package includes weekly pay, training and development opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible work schedules. Eligible team members can access health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation days and holidays, paid parental bonding leave, an employee assistance program, and tuition or professional certification reimbursement. Delaware North is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, encouraging applicants of all backgrounds to join their global team.
