We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team at WOB Bar & Kitchen. This role is pivotal in preparing food items according to precise recipes and quality standards while maintaining an efficient and organized kitchen environment. The Line Cook will be responsible for timely and consistent execution of menu items, ensuring that each dish meets both taste and presentation requirements. Job Requirements
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
- Ability to retain menu recipe knowledge
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to withstand frequent exposure to high and low temperatures, smoke, and steam
- Familiarity with use of sanitary latex gloves, sanitation solutions, and handling all types of food products including meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, dairy and produce
- Ability to learn and understand preparation of all menu items to World of Beer specifications, appearance and standards in a timely manner
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook
- Possess strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work well in fast-paced settings while maintaining a fun, high energy work environment
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire or as required by state law complying with all local requirements
Job Duties
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the WOB recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
- Follow the prep list created by Kitchen management
- Label and stock all ingredients to keep them organized and easily accessible
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure all food and station items are stored properly
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work efficiently and as part of a team to ensure timely preparation of dishes
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front of house staff
