Their water parks are designed to not only offer exciting aquatic attractions but also to deliver exceptional customer service and culinary excellence. As a part of such a dynamic and guest-focused company, employees have the unique opportunity to grow within a vibrant community dedicated to fun and safety. Employment with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment typically involves dynamic, seasonal or part-time roles that offer flexible hours and the chance to work in an energetic and supportive setting. This particular role is part-time with availability required for up to 29 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
The role of a Culinary Team Lead at the water park is a crucial position that contributes directly to guest satisfaction through quality food preparation and leadership. This position oversees the production of menu items for both daily operations and special events, ensuring that everything runs smoothly even in the absence of management. The successful candidate will coordinate food production in alignment with the park's attendance and event schedules, manage food orders, and oversee the delivery and presentation of meals. Responsibilities include regulating cooking temperatures, preparing ingredients according to recipes, cooking meats, vegetables, and other foods properly, and ensuring dishes meet quality standards by tasting and adjusting seasoning. Additionally, the Culinary Team Lead must exhibit a positive attitude, maintain high energy levels throughout shifts, and uphold the company's commitment to excellence in food service and guest interaction.
The position demands a blend of culinary skills and leadership qualities, requiring at least five years of related experience or an equivalent educational background with training. The candidate should possess strong communication and math skills and be physically capable of handling tasks such as lifting up to 55 pounds, standing for prolonged periods in varying temperature conditions, and effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. SeaWorld values inclusivity and expects team members to interact positively with guests and coworkers from diverse backgrounds and with special needs, fostering an atmosphere of respect and community. Successful candidates will also need to pass relevant food handler exams, highlighting safety and hygiene standards as a top priority. This role also comes with exciting employee perks such as free park admission, discounts on tickets, food, and merchandise, scholarship opportunities, and access to exclusive employee events and giveaways, creating an enjoyable and rewarding work experience.
