The Line Cook role at SeventyOne, a restaurant nestled inside the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, is a full-time, year-round position offering competitive pay at $21.00 per hour. This position requires working five days a week with available day and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays, ensuring flexibility and continuous operation to meet the resort’s high hospitality standards. The role is integral to delivering the culinary excellence Snowbird is known for and demands a strong commitment to professionalism, quality, and teamwork.
As a Line Cook at SeventyOne, you will be responsible for executing high-quality food preparation by closely following recipes and operational procedures established by the Executive Chef. Your work will directly impact the guest experience, particularly as the kitchen features an open layout that encourages interaction between the cooks and customers. Maintaining pristine sanitation, orderliness, and ingredient freshness is paramount, as is effective communication with the kitchen team to guarantee smooth and efficient service delivery. You will be assigned a specific station and expected to manage your responsibilities diligently, while also supporting your colleagues in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
Additionally, adherence to health and safety standards including proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation practices is imperative. The job involves physical demands such as standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35 pounds, reflecting the active nature of kitchen work. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays
- must be able to travel to Snowbird Resort
- must be able to lift 35 lbs
- must be able to stand for long periods of time
- fast-paced and high energy work environment
- schedule based on business levels including weekends and holidays
- must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence
- food handler permit
- knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules
- positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
- great listening and multi-tasking skills
- strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Report to work on time in the proper uniform
- ensure standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained daily
- follow food quality, food safety, preparation, handling and nutrition procedures
- maintain good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen
- participate in on-going employee training
- obtain assigned station from chef at the beginning of the shift
- prepare food for your station and be ready to assist others if needed
- complete daily duties before and after the shift
- take fast and appropriate action to solve problems
- handle guest concerns in a professional manner
- maintain line of communication between chef, sous chef and other kitchen staff
