Job Description

Home Chef, founded in 2013, stands as the leading meal solutions company offering both retail and online meal kit services. With an extensive presence available online at homechef.com and more than 2,100 Kroger grocery stores nationwide, Home Chef is dedicated to inspiring and enabling busy individuals to prepare simple, delicious meals in their own homes. The company prides itself on innovating food solutions to fit varied lifestyles and dietary needs, delivering convenience without compromising quality or taste. In 2023, Home Chef expanded its offerings by introducing Tempo, a new brand featuring rotating selections of ready-to-heat meals that are designed to save time and reduce stress while promoting a healthy lifestyle. These meals cater to a wide range of preferences, including protein-packed, fiber-rich, calorie and carb-conscious, keto-friendly, and dietitian-approved options.

The Line Cook position at Home Chef plays a vital role in the production of Ready to Heat (RTH) meals. This role operates on the first shift schedule, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with designated days off on Friday and Saturday. The Line Cook is responsible for raw food preparation activities such as washing, cutting, cooking, cooling, labeling, and portioning ingredients. Additionally, the role demands strict adherence to safety and food quality protocols, including documentation, temperature monitoring, and compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to food safety and floor safety. This role requires working under the direction of the Production Kitchen Supervisor to meet production requirements efficiently and with high attention to detail.

Working at Home Chef means being part of a team that values humility, collaboration, and innovative thinking. Employees are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives and creativity to continuously improve product offerings. The Line Cook must be adaptable, able to transition between various kitchen tasks and equipment, and committed to maintaining sanitation and cleanliness throughout the cooking process. The position also entails the responsibility for accurate progress tracking and documentation throughout food preparation stages to uphold quality and safety standards.

This job requires minimal to no travel, focusing on on-site production activities. Home Chef provides a supportive environment where employees can grow their skills in a fast-paced production setting. The company offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits including health coverage, paid time off, and opportunities to experience Home Chef products firsthand. The Line Cook role is ideal for individuals passionate about food production, quality assurance, and teamwork, while working within a dynamic and inclusive company culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
