The Sunriver Brewing Company Oakway Pub in Eugene is currently seeking a Line Cook to join their passionate and driven team. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and food is prepared according to the highest standards. A Line Cook at Oakway Pub takes on a dynamic role that involves preparing meals using standardized recipes with precision to maintain consistency and quality. The role requires a person who is adept at multi-tasking, staying organized, and communicating effectively with team members, especially the servers, to ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.

The focus of the Line Cook position is to help prepare various dishes including appetizers, main courses, desserts, and snacks. Responsibilities include cleaning and prepping ingredients, cooking using various techniques such as grilling, frying, and sautéing, and plating dishes attractively before they are served. This position also plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety standards and regulations. This is an hourly position with a pay range from $18 to $20, with the opportunity to earn an additional average tip allocation ranging from $2 to $4 per hour, reflecting the company's recognition of hard work and quality service. Job Requirements

  • Food Handler's Permit
  • Culinary school training would be advantageous
  • Experience as a line cook may be advantageous
  • Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives
  • Prior knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods ideal
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma

Job Duties

  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks
  • Cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
  • Plating prepared foods
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned
