Deft Pies is a vibrant and innovative pizza establishment located within Old Gregg Brewing Company at 1900 E Howard Ln, Building H2, in Northeast Austin, TX, near Southeast Pflugerville, TX. This new pizza concept prides itself on serving up Thin & Crispy Tavern Style Texas Style Pizza Pies. Although Deft Pies is a fresh brand in the market, it has quickly set itself apart by emphasizing fresh, quality ingredients and exceptional customer service as the foundation of its operation. Situated in a bustling area known for its culinary innovation and community spirit, Deft Pies embraces this environment, continually pushing to impress with delicious menu creations and a welcoming atmosphere.

Employment at Deft Pies offers a base pay rate plus tips, with total hourly pay varying based on season and individual performance. Tips can add an additional $3 to $8 per hour, with an average of about $5 extra per hour. The base pay rate is determined based on industry-specific experience. The company operates a Tip Pool system where all hourly employees are included, and employees are paid bi-weekly. Job Qualifications

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • must have reliable transportation
  • flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
  • food handlers certification required or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment
  • previous experience in the hospitality industry is required
  • strong communication skills with the ability to interact clearly with guests and team members
  • a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role
  • ability to work in physically challenging conditions
  • this may include but is not limited to prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies
  • involves repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • requires working with and around hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment in a fast-paced and crowded environment, which can occasionally be loud, unusually hot or cold, and physically demanding

Job Duties

  • Opening and closing duties, restocking, station cleanliness, organizing, station inventory, prep
  • willingness to cross train and learn new positions
  • demonstrate willingness and ability to improve job performance over time and take on additional responsibilities
  • follow guidance from Management or Shift Leads, perform work related duties as instructed
  • prepare food according to established recipes and quality standards while following all Health Department and company food handling safety standards
  • effectively and respectfully communicate with Management and team members
  • collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
  • perform all applicable duties and responsibilities in a positive, proactive, efficient, and timely fashion
  • monitor inventory levels, anticipate inventory issues early and communicate with Management or Shift Lead
  • keep individual stations and all work areas organized, orderly, and clean
  • clean and maintain all company property, monitor equipment function and proactively alert the Management of any necessary repairs and needs
  • perform opening and closing duties, such as cleaning, restocking, preparing for the next shift
