We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team at WOB Bar & Kitchen. This position is hourly and plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by preparing food items according to established recipes and standards, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. As a Line Cook at WOB, you will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes are prepared to specification, cooked properly, and timely served, all contributing to the overall guest satisfaction. This role requires working efficiently within a fast-paced team setting, where collaboration and communication with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members are essential. Job Requirements

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
  • Ability to retain menu recipe knowledge
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to withstand frequent exposure to high and low temperatures, smoke, and steam
  • Frequent contact with sanitary latex gloves, sanitation solutions, and food products including meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, dairy and produce items
  • Ability to learn and understand how to prepare all food items on the menu to WOB specifications, appearance and standards in a timely manner

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook preferred
  • Possess strong teamwork skills
  • Work well in fast-paced setting, while maintaining a fun, high energy work environment
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Food handler certification within 30 days of hire or as required by state law (complying with all local requirements)

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the WOB recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Follow the prep list created by Kitchen management
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Ensure all food and station items are stored properly
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work efficiently and as part of a team to ensure timely preparation of dishes
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the kitchen area
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front of house staff
