The role of Line Cook at Parkwest Casino is a vital position within the culinary team, playing a key role in ensuring that guests receive meals that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • open availability
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background check
  • active California Food Handlers Certificate or Card required
  • must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies and inventory up to 100 pounds
  • must be able to walk, stand and bend at neck for 3 or more hours a day
  • ability to perform repetitive hand actions including grasping, manipulation, pushing, pulling and reaching
  • exposure to noise, dust, gas, flames, chemicals and extreme temperature conditions possible
  • must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation

Job Duties

  • ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes and presentation on a consistent basis
  • provide consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation and cooking
  • monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment
  • recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and grains, including proper storage of these items
  • effectively utilize leftovers and control waste
  • work as a flexible team player able to take direction
  • collaborate with others in a small, confined space
