As a line cook at Torchy's, you will be an integral part of the culinary team responsible for preparing the delicious meals that define the Torchy's experience. You will work across multiple cooking stations including fry, grill, sauté, steam, and taco assembly, ensuring each dish meets the high standards that customers expect.

Your daily responsibilities as a line cook will involve mastering specific cooking stations: expertly frying items to the perfect crispiness and flavor; grilling proteins and taco ingredients to optimal temperatures; sautéing diverse components to craft flavorful dishes; operating steam equipment for dishes that require precise steaming techniques; and assembling tacos meticulously to meet Torchy's esteemed standards. Beyond cooking, you will monitor quality control, maintain cleanliness and organization of your workstation, collaborate effectively with other kitchen team members, assist with inventory management, and uphold kitchen safety and sanitation standards.

Job Requirements
- Must meet state and local requirements for food handler's certification
- Certification must be obtained by first day or within location's required timeline
- Previous experience preferred
- Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
- Must be able to stand for several hours
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects at various shelf heights
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
- Ability to serve guests with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to have fun
Job Qualifications
- Food handler's certification as per state and local requirements by first day or within required timeline
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Ability to work varied schedules and hours based on restaurant needs
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Capability to work efficiently under pressure maintaining quality

Job Duties
- Master the fry station, ensure all fried items are cooked to perfection with right crispiness and flavor
- Operate the grill station, cook proteins to correct temperature and ensure each taco ingredient is grilled perfectly
- Manage the sauté station, handle various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
- Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming, maintain right texture and flavor
- Assemble and build each taco to order, ensure each meets high standards and guest expectations
- Prepare and cook a variety of ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Collaborate with BOH team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
- Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients, ensure kitchen readiness before and during service
- Operate with urgency during busy periods, maintain quality and presentation of food
