Job Description
Olive Garden is a renowned American casual dining restaurant chain specializing in Italian-American cuisine. As a part of Darden Restaurants, it has earned a reputation for providing welcoming atmospheres, delicious meals, and genuine hospitality that makes every guest feel like part of the Olive Garden family. This establishment prides itself on maintaining high standards for food quality, guest service, safety, and sanitation. Olive Garden is not just a place to eat; it is a community where employees are treated with respect and care, creating an environment where team members can thrive, grow, and feel truly valued.
For this position, pay will vary depending on location, reflecting the local market and cost of living. Olive Garden offers a variety of benefits that support work-life balance and employee well-being. These include flexible schedules to accommodate school, childcare, family care, or other life Commitments. Employees enjoy free meals from a limited menu, weekly pay, anniversary pay as a recognition of tenure, and paid sick leave accrued at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked. After a year of service, team members become eligible for paid family and medical leave for up to two weeks, as well as company-matched 401(k) savings plans. Additionally, the company provides medical and dental insurance options, ongoing training opportunities to build critical skills for current and future roles, and discounts on cellphones, travel, electronics, and more. Many management positions are filled from within, with over 50 percent of managers originally promoted from hourly roles, making it a promising place to build a career in hospitality.
The role of the line cook at Olive Garden is both challenging and rewarding. It requires a passion for preparing and flawlessly executing recipes and plate presentation. This role demands a strict commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation in the kitchen to ensure the well-being of both team members and guests. The line cook is a crucial part of the team who must work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment to help deliver a memorable dining experience. The ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, follow recipes precisely, and maintain a clean and organized workspace is essential.
As a member of the Olive Garden family, the line cook will be supported through ongoing training and career development opportunities, with a clear pathway for advancement. The company values hard work, dedication, and a customer-first mindset. Joining Olive Garden means becoming part of a supportive team dedicated to quality food, exemplary service, and a positive work environment. With its emphasis on family, community, and career growth, Olive Garden offers much more than just a job — it offers a place where employees can belong and grow.
