The role of a Cook at Sizzler is essential in achieving the restaurant's mission of guest satisfaction and quality food preparation. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking all meals in a timely manner, adhering strictly to Sizzler's quality standards. This includes washing, cutting, and cooking vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, poultry, and seafood to prepare them for use, as well as measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes for various menu items. In this role, you will also be responsible for preparing plates to be served by arranging appropriate menu items neatly and attractively.
In addition to food preparation, the Cook role involves supporting inventory management by assisting with receiving and properly storing deliveries. Maintaining an organized and clean kitchen environment is also a critical part of your duties, helping to uphold the restaurant's safety and sanitation standards. You will be expected to follow all company policies and promote a safe environment for both guests and team members. Flexibility is key in this position, as you may be assigned tasks in multiple departments beyond your primary job role to support overall restaurant operations. Occasionally, you may be asked to participate in special projects or assist with additional tasks that contribute to the success of the company.

- 1-3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Current California Food Handlers Card
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and understand measurements
- Ability to read recipes
- Ability to speak and understand English both written and verbally
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

Job Duties

- Uses prep lists to determine production for the day
- Complete all responsibilities of assigned position in accordance with company standards
- Promotes, establishes, and maintains a safe environment for all guests and Team Members
- Assists with receiving and storing all orders properly as needed
- Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the restaurant
- Assigned to other and/or multiple departments besides primary job code as needed
- Participate in special projects or assist with other work necessary to operations
- Adapt to changes in job duties as directed by management
