Job Description

Canvas Hotel Dallas is a boutique hotel located less than one mile from downtown Dallas, known for its urban décor and modern amenities. This luxurious hotel showcases polished concrete floors, custom furnishings, large picture windows, and upscale room features such as a 49-inch flat-screen HDTV and iPod docking stations. The hotel also offers a rooftop pool, billiards tables in the lobby, and provides shuttle services within a one-mile radius to enhance guest convenience. Furthermore, the Canvas Hotel Dallas offers meeting rooms and banquet facilities suitable for conferences and social events, making it an ideal location for both business and leisure travelers.

The Line Cook position at Canvas Hotel Dallas is essential for delivering outstanding culinary service by preparing and cooking all food items for the Corporate Headquarters outlet, Banquets/Catering in meeting rooms, and the Executive Lounge. This role requires adherence to standardized recipes to ensure consistency in quality and presentation. A successful Line Cook maintains kitchen cleanliness, follows safety and sanitation standards, minimizes waste, and maximizes the cost/production ratio to contribute to operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prefers experience in a hotel or related environment. Food Handlers Certification compliant with state requirements is mandatory. The Line Cook must exhibit excellent communication skills, the ability to quickly and accurately evaluate options under pressure, and maintain composure in high-stress situations. This role demands a friendly, service-oriented attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues alike.

Responsibilities include maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming consistent with brand standards, complying with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies, and exhibiting a warm demeanor at all times. Kitchen duties include preparing and displaying buffet food, executing Banquet Event Orders accurately, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of storage areas, and following the brand's recipes strictly. The Line Cook must also operate kitchen equipment proficiently and uphold the "Clean As You Go" policy to ensure a safe, efficient working environment. The position involves occasional unsupervised contact with guests and requires a high level of trust, responsibility, and sound judgment.
