The current job opening is for an experienced Line Cook to join the kitchen team. The Line Cook position is central to WOB’s operation because they are responsible for preparing food items according to established recipes and quality standards consistently. This is a hands-on role requiring a passion for cooking, an eye for detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the kitchen environment. The role is hourly paid and reports directly to the Kitchen Manager. Job Requirements
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
- Ability to retain menu recipe knowledge
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to withstand frequent exposure to high and low temperatures, smoke, and steam
- Ability to learn and understand how to prepare all food items on the menu to World of Beer specifications, appearance and standards in a timely manner
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cook, fry cook
- Strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a fun, high-energy work environment
- Effective communication skills
- Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire or as required by state law
Job Duties
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the WOB recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
- Follow the prep list created by Kitchen management
- Label and stock all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure all food and station items are stored properly
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work efficiently and as part of a team to ensure timely preparation of dishes
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front of house staff
