Job Description
An active adult community located in Southern Charlotte, NC 28277, managed by Community Association Manager Services (CAMS), is committed to fostering a vibrant and engaging environment tailored specifically for active adults aged 55 and over. This community combines comfortable living with a rich array of social, educational, and recreational activities designed to enrich the lives of its residents. CAMS, a well-recognized management company, specializes in community association services, ensuring that the administrative and operational aspects of the community run smoothly and effectively. \n\nThe role of Lifestyle Director, also known as Activities Leader, is a vital position within this community. As the full-time Lifestyle Director, you will serve as the "activities face" of the community management team, responsible for bringing residents together through diverse life-enrichment activities and events. These activities are crafted to meet the varied interests and needs of every owner at any stage of life, promoting a sense of camaraderie and belonging. The position demands a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can successfully manage multiple deadlines daily. Collaboration is key, as the Lifestyle Director will work closely with multiple community stakeholders such as the management team, board of directors, developer and builder staff, and most importantly, the owners themselves. \n\nThe ideal candidate for this role will possess a minimum of three years of professional lifestyle program management experience, preferably within a 55+ community setting, which is considered a strong advantage. You will be tasked with conceptualizing, planning, and executing a comprehensive range of programs including events, activities, classes, sports, healthy living initiatives, and fitness opportunities. Because many events occur during evenings, weekends, and holidays, flexibility in scheduling is essential. The Lifestyle Director must be prepared to plan, coordinate, and attend these functions actively, while managing the associated logistics such as purchasing supplies, previewing entertainment, and evaluating venues. The position also involves maintaining regular office duties alongside these responsibilities, ensuring balanced attention is given to both event coordination and administrative tasks. \n\nThis role offers a unique opportunity to make a direct positive impact on the quality of life within an active adult community by providing engaging activities that foster social connections, wellness, and personal growth. Working with CAMS means you will be part of a professional management team that values community enhancement and supports its staff with resources and benefits conducive to growth and success. The position is full-time with standard hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, but it includes weekend, evening, and holiday commitments as needed to meet community needs. Salary is competitive and based on the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications, reflecting the importance placed on expertise and dedication in this key position.
