The Assistant Café Leader role is an integral part of Life Time’s hospitality operations, combining leadership skills with a passion for outstanding guest service.

The Assistant Café Leader supports the Café Leader by ensuring that all daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of hospitality Life Time is known for. It involves leading and motivating a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences consistently. Responsibilities include coaching team members, managing food safety and quality, handling inventory and labor costs, and supporting recruitment and development initiatives. The Assistant Café Leader operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and a genuine passion for hospitality. This position plays a vital part in fostering a positive and service-oriented café culture that aligns with Life Time’s brand values. Pay for this hourly position ranges from $21.50 to $31.00, depending on experience and qualifications, reflecting the importance of leadership capabilities and operational expertise in this role. Job Requirements

  • Strong passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and team leadership
  • Ability to lead by example and coach others in a fast-paced café environment
  • Experience working with POS systems, food handling, and inventory processes
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks throughout shifts
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience in a fast-casual or café setting
  • ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent
  • ServSafe Alcohol Safety or equivalent if applicable
  • CPR/AED certification
  • College degree in business, culinary arts, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of food costing, scheduling, and basic profit and loss analysis preferred
  • Experience leading team culture and driving sales through service preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement service recovery or upselling strategies preferred
  • Passion for creating a desirable, guest-centric café environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Leads day-to-day café operations with a focus on hospitality, service standards, and shift execution
  • Coaches, trains, and motivates team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences and meet performance expectations
  • Partners with the Café Leader to manage labor, food costs, inventory, and overall financial performance
  • Supports hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members to create a strong, service-focused café culture
  • Ensures all food safety, cleanliness, and Life Time brand standards are upheld on every shift
