This pivotal role involves leading the food and beverage service team to ensure unparalleled resident dining experiences. The Lead Server acts as the liaison between the culinary team and the dining room, coordinating efforts to maintain high standards of service, food quality, and customer satisfaction. Working under the guidance of the Culinary Director and Executive Director, you will play an instrumental role in delivering excellence every day. This position is a shift role starting at 11:30 AM until closing, specifically designed to avoid late nights, with availability on holidays and weekends as needed. \n\nAs Lead Server, you will be responsible for overseeing service operations, managing and training staff, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our community values. You will also handle opening and closing duties for the dining room, monitor employee appearance and conduct, and coordinate scheduling to ensure smooth service. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience in a high-volume hospitality setting, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will be adept at problem-solving and resident interaction, ready to handle inquiries, complaints, and special requests with efficiency and grace. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in food service or hospitality industry
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle resident interactions professionally and effectively
- Physical ability to perform dining room opening and closing duties
Job Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a lead server or similar role in high-volume atmosphere for minimum of 2 years
- Customer service training experience
- Experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles
- Familiarity with fine dining or casual dining environments
- Demonstrated effective team management and leadership
- Knowledge of culinary practices, food safety standards, and inventory management
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Experience with catering services, banquet operations, or bar management is a plus
Job Duties
- Lead the front-of-house service team to ensure exceptional dining experiences
- Liaise between kitchen and front-of-house operations
- Assist with recruiting, training, and staff development programs
- Monitor employee dress code and professional appearance
- Perform dining room opening and closing duties
- Attend management and staff meetings
