The Lead Event Coordinator is an essential role in ensuring the seamless execution of events across all Leal Hospitality Group properties. Reporting closely with sales, event, design, and facilities teams, the Lead Event Coordinator oversees the comprehensive management of event operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to coordinate event timelines, logistics, and every element to guarantee a positive and memorable experience for guests. Responsibilities include acting as the main point of contact for event hosts, coordinating staffing and vendor services, and ensuring that each aspect of an event meets the high standards expected by Leal Hospitality Group’s distinguished clientele. This position offers flexibility, with opportunities for full-time or part-time engagement, allowing individuals to integrate well with varied event demands throughout the year. The Lead Event Coordinator plays a critical part in not only managing the immediate logistics of the event but also supporting the sales team by facilitating lead identification and contract management. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or in progress preferred in hospitality, marketing, communications, event or meeting planning or equivalent experience
- Customer service-oriented mindset with focus on exceeding client expectations
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Professional and polished appearance adhering to company dress code
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Aisle Planner, Google Documents
- Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Valid California Food Handler Certificate
- Current ABC-approved California Responsible Beverage Serving Certification
- Current California Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record
- Ability to travel frequently within the portfolio, including starting shifts at different properties
- Ability to drive company vehicles including golf carts safely
- Ability to work under pressure and use good judgment to resolve problems
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Job Qualifications

- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Valid California Food Handler Certificate
- Current ABC-approved California Responsible Beverage Serving Certification
- Current California Driver's License with satisfactory driving record
Job Duties
- Ensure complete familiarity with the event logistics, work with the sales team to ensure a successful file handoff and communication is done prior to the event
- Serve as the main contact for the wedding couple or event hosts and attend to their needs, work closely with clients to understand their event requirements and special requests, and consistently provide exceptional customer service
- Coordinate event details and timelines, ensure everyone is in the right location per the event schedule, and ensure events run on time
- Coordinate and attend culinary tastings, final walkthroughs, and rehearsals
- Ensure banquet staff are adequately prepared for the event, coordinate staffing requirements, and staff briefings
- Oversee and direct the banquet serving and banquet set-up staff to ensure all tasks are assigned and executed
- Assist with setup and teardown of decorations as needed
