The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty plays a crucial part in maintaining the excellence and efficiency of guest transactions in store. This position focuses on driving loyalty results such as sales, guest experience, and credit by leading operational and customer service standards at the cashwrap. The Lead Cashier is responsible for training and cross-training associates, assisting with cashier chat ins and chat outs, and supporting open and close register functions. They act as a leader who proactively collaborates and influences peers to ensure the delivery of exceptional, personalized Ulta Beauty brand experiences to every guest.

Maintaining store standards, cleanliness, and asset protection are integral to the position. Job Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma preferred
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate and multi-task
- Ability to handle customer interactions professionally
- Knowledge of guest service and sales
- Proficient with technology such as POS systems and Apple devices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt
- Physical ability to perform continuous mobility and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs
- Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service
- Competency for selling and exceeding sales goals
- Experience addressing guest concerns professionally
- Experience training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale system and Apple devices

- Ability to use good judgment in ambiguous situations and be flexible and adaptable
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink
- Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by providing a guest-friendly environment, greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending Ulta Beauty products and/or services
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by pairing them with an associate to perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and the guest service experience
- Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while delivering on sales goals
- Take ownership over the replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures to ensure guest-readiness at all times
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance
