The Lead Cashier role at Ulta Beauty is a pivotal position responsible for maintaining the efficiency and excellence of guest transactions while upholding the highest standards of cashwrap appearance, cleanliness, and overall aesthetics. This role extends beyond transactional duties; it offers the opportunity to lead and influence peers by assisting in the training of new cashiers and cross-training other associates, ensuring a cohesive and productive team environment. Job Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to continuously move throughout the store during the shift
- Capable of frequent bending, pulling, pushing, crouching, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
- Ability to coordinate and manipulate objects continuously during the shift
- Must engage in interactive process if disability prevents performance of essential functions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
- Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competency in selling
- Experience addressing guest concerns professionally and promptly
- Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
- Proficient with basic technology such as Point of Sale systems and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ability to react under pressure and use good judgment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
Job Duties
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store's goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty including credit, and retail shrink
- Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging them, personalizing service to their needs, and recommending products or services
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Book appointments and support the execution of in-store events and services
- Maintain the replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures
- Assist in the training of new cashiers and cross-training of associates
- Support the leadership team with open and close register functions and associate exit inspections
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures including cash handling and store standards
- Maintain outstanding store cleanliness including cashwrap, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, and break areas
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by enforcing store standards and safety measures
- Participate in ongoing training to stay informed on industry trends and product knowledge
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program and lead associates to promote loyalty and credit goals
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business
